Most flooring installations involve corners and obstacles, such as cabinets, and you're going to have to cut boards to fit around them. In most cases, this is a routine procedure, but it can get tricky, especially when laying laminate flooring boards that snap together. You have less to fear about making corner cuts if the floor includes a baseboard, because baseboards can hide up to 1/2 inch of any gap.

28 Jul 2016 Keep the flooring oriented the same direction throughout. Obviously cross-hall boards may look odd depending on the style of the flooring. In a very short hallway run it may not be a concern. Use a T molding to transition over a change in direction, orienting the seam perpendicular to the hallway. This is probably best done inline with the view from the living room, where it'll be less noticeable. Use a T molding at a 45 degree angle between the wall corners to

So looking above, its a big square, but it's 2 steps that are shaped like triangles, with the wide ends against each other.
There are two different ways to do corner wraps -- with biscuits and without. The wood at the angle is cut according to the angle of the turn, such as making a 45-degree cut at the end of a board and on the front end of the next board to make a 90-degree turn around a corner, joining the boards with glue along the cut. Some installers, however, also use a biscuit system where a small disc of wood is inserted into vertical slots cut into the thickness of the boards. When you apply wood

29 Dec 2015 In this video we will continue from where we left off in how to install laminate in a hallway- part 1.
